Innovate Europe '05: Sven Lingjaerde
Photo
4 yrs 6 mos ago
Sven Lingjaerde, from Vision Capital & the Euro Tech Tour Association, is keynoting the conference - talking about one of the engines of innovation: venture capital.
One of his statistics is interesting: working with a European fund of fund, he has established that only 77 funds in Europe have gone "all the way", i.e fund raising, investing, managing, exiting. And less than 10% of European GPs have over 10 years of VC experience. Key assets: leading education, world class research centers,... Key issues: lack of entrepreneurial spirit, complex technology transfer, our education focuses on larger corporations, roll out of new technology challenging, not really one market - neither commercial nor financial. |
