Innovate Europe '05: 23people launches!
Photo
4 yrs 6 mos ago
Thomas Madsen-Mygdal (who also organizes the great Reboot conference) launches a new photosharing site at Innovate!Europe: 23people. It is functionally very similar to Buzznet and Flickr, has a very nice UI and will provide unlimited capacity for 29 EUR/year.
I should get an account soon to play with it, but it is great to see the quality of the product new entrants are putting in the market. |

HIM Gallery Spammed!!!
Photo
4 yrs 10 mos ago
You are all familiar with the gallery of HIM, the Finnish Goth band that uses Buzznet to collect fan pictures.
This morning I spotted that a $*(%$ spammer had inundated the gallery with fake Rolex spam. The whole point of the gallery is to let fan post their pictures freely. We fixed it, but it would be a shame to have to change the posting policy because of these abuses. And this was in the middle of a Buzznet presentation. As I said: "We're now mainstream, we are being spammed". Duh. |

Taken from the panel this morning
Photo
4 yrs 10 mos ago
I was called last night at 9PM last night to replace Caterina Fake from Flickr at a media conference, and talk about the issue of media and disintermediation. I took this picture as I was on the panel to demonstrate the immediacy of photocommunication, and why pictures are so powerful to share a moment with one's network.
You may recognize Steve Gillmor, Ross Mayfied, Scott Rafer. |
